The Future of the Pack | Oil Painting
At dawn by a waterhole, we heard the distant clash of predators. When the sun rose, our drone revealed a pack of wild dogs in the nearby rocks. Sadly, we soon spotted a pup with a severe wound - likely from an unfortunate encounter with a leopard. Unable to reach it, we circled the waterhole and rolled upon the rest of the litter, huddled tightly together for comfort after the loss of their sibling. Under the watchful gaze of the adults, the pups soon began playing, their bond unbroken. This painting captures not just their closeness, but the resilience and hope that carries the future of the pack - and honours the memory of the one they lost.
